## The studio

Protectors of Balance is the game studio brand of Odania GmbH, based in Germany. The studio started in virtual reality and builds games with Unity, Godot and Unreal Engine, releasing on Steam (PC and PC VR), Meta Quest, PlayStation VR2, Viveport, Android and iOS.

Claim: "Torn from our world. Sent into another – for a reason yet to be revealed."
Tagline: "We don't invent worlds. We open doors to them."

Protectors of Balance – The Beginning is the first story of the Protectors of Balance series. The series has four free browser prototypes on itch.io, released one per week: Shadow Bureau Operator (looks in on all worlds from outside) is out now, The Beginning follows on 10 November 2026, Salvage Deck (same world as The Beginning) on 17 November and Lucky Protector (a world of its own) on 24 November. The other games listed above are standalone titles with their own worlds. Each game has its own info sheet in this press kit.

## The series

In every Protectors of Balance story, someone from our world is torn away and dropped into another world with its own rules, dangers and people. Some of those worlds are science fiction, some fantasy, some a mix, and some have already fallen. The Protector is always there for a reason, and that reason only reveals itself along the way.

## Network and showcases

The studio supports the German Games Industry Association (game), is part of Indie Treff e.V. and the Schleswig-Holstein games network IF(game)SH, and works with SpielFabrique. Space Drop was shown at Gamescom 2024 in Cologne, Odania Sports Arena at Baltic Games Fest 2025 and Galactic Economy at Baltic Games Fest 2026, both in Neumünster.
